Ladies and Gentlemen, our honored Guests, and dear friends:

Good afternoon! Please allow me, on behalf of Weibo, to express our sincere thanks to everyone for being here. I hope the in-depth exchanges and communications among all of you today could facilitate the cultural exchanges between China and Canada, deepen the mutual understanding between our two countries, and further our collaborations towards a sustainable and profound win-win future.

As the most influential social media platform in Greater China, Weibo is committed to bridging the gap between peoples, countries and societies. It also carries the mission of promoting Chinese culture and sharing the prosperous lifestyle with the world. Meanwhile, as a link between China and the world, we also value the importance of two-way cultural exchanges, and put great effort to build more channels for Chinese netizens, and bring more possibilities for them to have a better understand of the world.

To accomplish this mission, Weibo Overseas is taking Weibo Sinology, Weibo Tourism and Weibo Airlines,three vertical products, to create an Overseas Weibo Theme Week, titled "Meeting the Whole World" , which will make culture tangible, perceptible and experiential. We feel honored to have Canada as our first stop of this Overseas Weibo Theme Week, and we have gained the full support from all of you, from all partners in Canada. I hope that, with everyone’s effort, this "Meeting Canada" event will serve as a standard and an example to launch a series of journeys to “Meet the Whole World”.

The core actives of the theme week start with Weibo Overseas users sharing their stories, showcasing their colorful life in Canada to their fellow Weibo users around the world about their experiences in travelling, education, culture, and lifestyle. At today’s conference, we have invited representatives from the official Weibo International, from some active KOL on the Weibo platform, and from institutional pro users of Weibo, to share with you some of the core values, the most highlighted viewpoints. At the same time, there will be a variety of online fun activities to attract the attention of netizens, involving top users in different fields. For example, hashtag #time travel in a frame# is one of our call-for-entry activities we plan to initiate. Ten years ago, a Chinese netizen took a picture in front of the Niagara Falls and left a precious photo. Ten years later, he set his foot in the same place again.  The documenting tool changed from a mechanical camera to a mobile phone while a decade has passed, as if a past self was encountering with a new one within one picture frame. I believe that such event will generate some nostalgia, and bring about powerful and meaningful feeling among many of us. We encourage everyone to participate in such event and enter your very own pictures.
